Heather Summers
Author and Educator | Writing on life, growth, and faith
Helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with clarity, compassion, and purpose.
My Mission
My mission is to use and share my experience to help others facing similar circumstances. From a young age, I have aspired to be a teacher, and I have learned that the most effective educators are those who individualize instruction to meet each person’s unique needs. My philosophy in life has always been captured by the adage, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” My hope is that this belief—and this pedagogy—is evident through my writing and my interactions with others.

Navigating Co-Parenting
Co-parenting after divorce or separation can feel overwhelming. Two homes. Different expectations. Emotional triggers you didn’t see coming. And beneath it all, one question quietly remains: How do we protect our children while learning to heal ourselves?
In Navigating Co-Parenting, Heather Summers offers a compassionate and practical guide for parents learning to rebuild life after brokenness. Drawing from real-life experience, hard-earned wisdom, and proven emotional tools, she invites readers into a journey of healing marked by grace, boundaries, and steady growth.
- regulate emotions instead of reacting
- establish healthy internal and external boundaries
- communicate with clarity and respect
- navigate differences between households with wisdom
- handle new relationships and changing family dynamics
- build a strong support system
- protect your children’s emotional well-being while healing your own heart
Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi – repairing broken pottery with gold – this book reminds us that healing doesn’t erase the cracks. It strengthens them.
You don’t need perfection to move forward.
No need clarity, courage, and a path you can walk one step at a time.
As someone who has spent most of my professional career in child development—and who is living the daily reality of coparenting within a successful blended family—I can say without hesitation that this book is both necessary and exceptional. It skillfully bridges evidence-based practices with real-life experience, offering guidance that is honest, compassionate, and profoundly practical. This is not theory from the sidelines—it is wisdom shaped by lived experience and a deep commitment to children’s well-being. The author challenges outdated narratives around separation and replaces them with a powerful truth: with intention, accountability, and care, families can heal, grow, and thrive. This book doesn’t just offer insight—it provides a clear, hopeful path forward for parents determined to build something healthy and lasting.
