Book Ambassador Program Privacy

When you apply to participate in the Heather Summers Book Ambassador Program, we may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide as part of your application. This information may include your name, email address, social media or website information, information about your purchase of Navigating Co-Parenting: Finding Peace, Stability, and Healing in Your Home, proof of purchase, and information necessary to issue commission payments if you are accepted into the program.

Proof of Purchase

Applicants are required to provide proof that they purchased Navigating Co-Parenting before being approved as a Book Ambassador. Proof of purchase may include a screenshot or copy of an Amazon order confirmation, receipt, or other purchase record showing the book and purchase.

We only need enough information to verify that a qualifying purchase occurred. Applicants are encouraged to remove or cover information that is not necessary for verification, including:

  • Credit or debit card information
  • Bank or financial account information
  • Home or mailing address
  • Amazon or retailer account information
  • Order numbers
  • Other unrelated personal information

Please do not submit passwords, complete payment card numbers, bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive financial or identification information as part of your proof of purchase.

How Proof of Purchase Is Used

Proof-of-purchase information is collected solely for purposes related to administering the Heather Summers Book Ambassador Program, including:

  • Verifying that an applicant meets the Verified Reader purchase requirement;
  • Reviewing and processing Ambassador applications;
  • Preventing fraudulent or duplicate applications; and
  • Maintaining reasonable program administration records.

Proof-of-purchase information will not be sold or used for advertising purposes.

Storage and Retention

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information submitted in connection with the Book Ambassador Program.

Proof-of-purchase documentation will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to verify eligibility, administer the program, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or satisfy applicable legal or recordkeeping requirements.

When proof-of-purchase documentation is no longer reasonably necessary for these purposes, it may be securely deleted or destroyed.

Where practical, only a record that an applicant’s purchase has been verified will be retained after the original proof-of-purchase documentation is no longer needed.

Ambassador Payment Information

Approved Ambassadors may be asked to provide information necessary to receive commission payments, such as a PayPal email address, Venmo username, or other approved payment information.

Payment information will be used only for administering and issuing Ambassador commission payments and related recordkeeping.

Ambassadors should not provide passwords, payment card numbers, bank login credentials, or other information that is not specifically requested.

Third-party payment services may process payments according to their own privacy policies and terms.

Sharing of Ambassador Information

Personal information collected through the Book Ambassador Program will not be sold.

Information may be disclosed to service providers when reasonably necessary to operate the website, process payments, administer the Ambassador Program, comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, protect legal rights, or provide services requested by the Ambassador.

These providers may include website hosting providers, form and email services, e-commerce providers, payment processors, and other technology providers used to operate hsummers.com and the Book Ambassador Program.

Your Choices

You may request to update or correct information you submitted as part of your Book Ambassador application.

You may also request deletion of eligible personal information associated with your application or participation in the program, subject to information that may need to be retained for legitimate business, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, legal, or other recordkeeping purposes.

Privacy-related requests may be submitted using the contact information provided on hsummers.com.

Protecting Your Privacy When Submitting a Receipt

Before sending proof of purchase, please review the image or document carefully and remove any information that is not necessary to verify your purchase.

Generally, proof of purchase only needs to show enough information to identify Navigating Co-Parenting and demonstrate that the purchase occurred.

By submitting proof of purchase, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the information being provided and understand that it will be used to determine your eligibility for the Heather Summers Book Ambassador Program.
